What do engineers, designers and entrepreneurs all have in common? Nothing much aside from the fact that we all love cereal.


Started in 2013 by a group of 3 friends from Nanyang Technological University, the MilkMaster was invented for one simple purpose - to make your breakfast experience more enjoyable. Our founders, Lydia, Hwee Min and Kimberly, all firmly believe that having a fulfilling and nutritious breakfast is essential to starting your day on the right note.


But why the MilkMaster? Being busy students at NTU, the 3 friends often relied on cereal as their breakfast fix in the morning. It’s fast, convenient and affordable, allowing for a satisfying breakfast while rushing for that morning class. However, there was one thing that the 3 detested more than anything else - the Soggy Cereal Experience, a phrase they coined after the experience of having your once-crunchy cereal turn to mush near the last few spoonfuls of every bowl.


After spending a month conceptualising the product, the trio put their idea on to Kickstarter, hoping to get enough crowdfunding to start manufacturing the prototype. It took less than 3 months to reach their target of $10,000, and the MilkMaster is now on the commercial market half a year later.


MilkMaster products are now currently stocked at all major department stores and supermarkets, as well as major e-retailer Amazon.com.


Upon graduation, the trio hopes to expand the MilkMaster collection to include even more products that can enhance the cereal eating experience, and even related dinnerware. The trio also has plans to expand into the overseas market in time to come.
